Project Youth Group Gift Shop
By funding Project Youth Group's Gift Shop, you will be giving our local Teens a whole new approach in Succeeding in a positive direction.
Our Gift shop is the first step in this direction. It will get teens off the streets and provide jobs for after school and weekends. This will be incorporated in the youth center itself. This is the stepping stone, to get teens involved and set the stage for the center. Services
Manufacturing- Making and packaging items for our gift shop.
Selling and Marketing- learning commercial functions involved in transferring our products from manufacturing to consumer. Arts- Painting, sketching, doodling with creative tools. Learning to blend and use different mediums to create different forms of art. Crafts- Candle making, Jewelry making, Pottery, Needle crafts, Latch hooking and Weaving. Video and Movie Productions- All the basics of video production. In which the kids create, develop and launch their own videos and mini movies. Exercise and sports equipment- Keep our bodies and minds healthy with: Aerobic activity, strength training, yoga. Basketball, football, softball, soccer and various fun games to promote physical fitness. Book Club- To enrich literacy, we will have a book club with age appropriate books and discussions. D.A.R.E and anti-drug abuse- Above the influence, peer pressure, the dangers and drinking an driving. Dramatics Club- Plays, Short stories with fund raising performances, Culinary- Learn new recipes, cook and bake for fund raising. Gardening- From seeds to table, cultivation, growing and harvesting for our farm stand. Journalism- Newspaper team, interviews and writing articles. Monthly newsletters, gathering information and posting in a newsletter for parents and peers. Tutoring- Homework help and with struggling academic areas. Leadership roles- Team work and most importantly social skills needed to achieve self confidence and self esteem to become productive adults. ****** ****** ****** ****** ****** ****** Monthly Special activities: Fund raising activities, Events to promote family and parent involvement. Statistics show that incorporating these fundamental stepping stones into the everyday lives of teens have significantly improved self-confidence and self-esteem and has has exhibited significant declines in problem behaviors and drug use.
